How it works
How it works
For each offer we add base pay, the bonus and the employer retirement match, then subtract your health premiums and commuting costs. Other yearly perks, such as a phone stipend or tuition help, are added in. The total is divided by the hours you'd actually work after paid time off, which gives an effective hourly value. Stock, growth and how much you'd like the work aren't counted.
FAQ
About the comparison
What does the comparison include?
Base pay, a bonus, an employer retirement match, what you pay for health coverage, other yearly perks and commuting costs. It turns them into one yearly value and an effective hourly rate.
Why use an hourly rate?
Two jobs with the same salary can ask for very different hours and give different time off. The hourly number puts them on the same footing.
What does it leave out?
Taxes, stock, growth, job security and how much you'd enjoy the work. Numbers are one part of the choice.
Is anything saved?
No. The math runs in your browser.
